May 18, 2010 4:38 PM

UPM (Helsinki, Finland) is launching a new paper for high-speed inkjet color printing within its UPM DIGI paper range at Ipex 2010.
UPM DIGI Color Jet is pigmented inkjet paper. It prints vivid colors and uniform solids and has high color intensity with low ink amounts. Its main end uses are direct mail and transpromotional document printing, but it also suits other colorful mailing documents and books. The paper has been granted the EU Eco-label as a proof of its environmental performance in manufacturing and sustainable raw material use. The producing mill, UPM Docelles, also has PEFC and FSC Chain of Custodies, confirming the origin of wood.
Users can select from a variety of surface finishes (gloss, silk and matte) and from a wide spectrum of basis weights, ranging from 45 to 350 g/m². The range offers paper qualities for all common digital printing based on electrophotography or inkjet technology, and various sizes such as cut sizes, folio sheets, Xeikon reels, and large-diameter reels for digital web printing.
UPM also has renewed its product offering and naming in its SC-B, MFS and News product ranges, launching the new UPM Eco line. These developments take place in heatset and rotogravure printing methods, whereas the coldset product range stays the same.
The new UPM EcoPrime G is an uncoated bulky speciality paper for advertising and publishing. The economical UPM Eco range has two product name changes:  The former UPM Brite H is named UPM EcoPrime H and the former UPM News H is named UPM EcoBasic H.
